Over a cup of coffee – Brussels - Part I
The terror attack in Brussels airport and metro stations has made several people to realize that Europe is in the grip of terrorism and that too from within with a large number of immigrants with suspect followers of ISIS. Gopu and Shyam were no exceptions and it is Shyam who phoned up to Gopu to meet early. Shyam was very upset that the frequencies of these attacks are now more than a few years ago. He was of the considered opinion that Europe has totally failed in their policy of immigration and could not identify those who really want to make a living by immigration and offer their services according to the requirements of the host country and those whose motives are ulterior. The ones with ulterior motives have always used the advancement in technology in the host countries in their favour and given into interests other than helping the host countries requirements.
Gopu while agreeing with Shyam that the Europe has failed in their immigration policy said a few of the countries in Europe were responsible for colonialisation centuries before and though they had brought developments to the countries they colonialized, they also looted the wealth of these countries and subjugated the people and the people had undergone untold miseries. Gopu felt within a century of giving freedom to these countries, they are getting paid by means of terrorism which of course, is not the agenda of the many of the countries who won freedom, but a few people who think theirs is the only religion that should exist, are becoming the sole reason for these terrorist attacks. During colonialisation, these European countries also had an agenda for conversion, where luring the gullible had the desired result. Systematic divide and rule among sections of the people were necessary to keep themselves in power. Such planning to entrench themselves during the yester years have now totally failed in preventing people with terrorist backing to enter their countries, beside the intelligence agencies could not pin point with accuracy the areas of suspected terror attacks.
It should be clearly borne in mind by these countries, about the age group of these terrorists and thus will pave the way to prevent them from entering their countries. Should they close their universities for them? – It should be seriously thought of as one of their options. Immigrants have to be clearly identified as those who are going to contribute towards the economy of the country and those who are not and further immigration policy have to be revised to suit the countries needs. People arriving from Conflict zones will have to be helped for a period of 3 years as a maximum and have to be asked to leave. Arms seizures have to be viewed very seriously and deporting should be the only punishment.
Gopu said further that it is too early to arrive at conclusions as many details will be known in future about the attack but of the opinion that unabated immigration of questionable characters have resulted in the present predicament of Europe.
